Simple question: When do you think "The Host" takes place? Do you think it is supposed to take place during 2008 (when the novel came out) or farther in the future? If the latter, how much farther?

As with all book-movie adaptations, clearly some parts of The Host are going to be left out of the movie. Of course, it would be nice to see it all on screen, but what parts do you think they should leave out for the greater good of the main plotline?

Do you think Kyle deserved to die for trying to throw Wanderer into the river? If you were in Wanderer's position, would you have let him live or would you have wanted him to face the consequences of his actions?

As we all know, for the majority of the book/movie Melanie has her voice box being used by Wanderer to converse with the external world, while Melanie also has an internal voice she uses to speak to Wanderer. When Wanderer is given a new host body, we are told that it is Jamie who picked it out. While everyone else was scared of Wanderer in Melanie's body, Jamie was one of the few who didn't seem to care that she was a Soul.
